What To Expect...
Preparing for your consultation:
A significant amount of time has been reserved for you to meet with your surgeon. Your consultation will begin with a discussion of what area’s you have concerns with or are looking to enhance. Your physician will then discuss what procedures you are considering, as well as surgical benefits, risks, recovery period, and cost. Your surgeon welcomes all questions and concerns and encourages you to ask questions. It’s important that you feel comfortable and at ease with any decisions you make.
Preparing for surgery:
Prepare your home prior to surgery. Make a comfortable place for you to rest for several days, making sure to have everything you will need at easy access and any duties that require any type of manual labor to be taken care of prior to surgery. Make sure you have made arrangements for someone to pick you up from surgery and to take you to get your prescriptions filled. Be sure to discuss any allergic reactions or complications you have experienced in the past with any medications. Remove any fingernail or toenail polish. Remember to not eat or drink anything 12 hours prior to surgery.
Recovery:
It’s normal to feel drossy and a little out of it after surgery. Swelling and bruising are very common after any kind of surgery. Make sure to discuss what is considered “normal” after your procedure and when you should contact your physician. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled right after your surgery to monitor your progress.
